I just finished a 2 weekend long class that I took to be certified to perform sealants. I was dreading that class since I heard we were required to take it. We had to find patients to volunteer to get sealants done by us which was a pain. Then, the instructor tells us last week they need a prescription. So neither of my patients even have a dentist so I had to ask if the dentist I work for would examine them for sealants. She said yes and that it was no problem. So I had to run around getting their xrays from my school to bring to the dentist and then tried to get my patients in to see her at a time where she wouldn't be too busy. It all worked out but just was a pain in the ass.
Now I just need to take my written and practical board exams. I also need to be finger printed for my boards so I need to take care of that this week.
Weight loss has been ok this week. I think I am down 3 pounds from last week. I'll do my official weigh in, in a few.
I'm still a Youtube addict. Last night I discovered this show and proceeded to watch all 7 episodes in a few hours time. It's called "Starved". It's about 4 friends who met in a self help class for eating disorders and they each have a different disorder. Apparently it is now been canceled.Too bad too because it had real potential.
It's 2 more days until my trip to Anaheim. I decided to take the opportunity to shop for much needed jean shorts/skirts/tops and some other miscellaneous items.
Here is my makeup haul. I had a Macy's giftcard leftover from my birthday. After trying on about 10 pairs of DKNY, juicy and Calvin & Klein Jeans, I decided just to use my card on some MAC products.
I also got the HIP paints to try out as a base for my pigments to see if I can pop the colors more. I read a review today on L'Oreals HIP Paints and after reading such a positive review, I decided to try them. I was planning on going out to buy MAC's painterly Paint Pot today anyhow. I got some awesome new
MAC eye shadows. So darn pricey but MAC has some pretty amazing products.
I am totally in love with makeup again. I have gotten more and more obsessed with it over the past few weeks. I've been watching Marlena's makeup geek videos on Youtube and I've been busting out a lot of the looks she demonstrates. Now I am an active member on her forum chatting about makeup!
The crazy part is she now posts a photo with a look for people to try and recreate and post their pictures of it. I may actually try this week's look tomorrow. I'm so silly.
So what exactly makes a perfectly normal single mother and new graduate run out and buy new clothes, make up and pretty panties from Victoria's Secret??? Vacation of course!
I guess I just want to put my best foot forward and look beautiful everyday. It is on my 21 things to do at 43 things.
Well I should be getting back to laundry and figuring out how to cram all of my hair products into the same clothing suitcase so as to avoid having to pay an additional baggage fee.
Weight loss update:
It is my 6 weeks mark today and I am down 15 pounds. I feel good and I am pretty sure I am looking good. My pants are easier to put on and I was even able to wear a size 12 at American Eagle today. Sure it was snug but I could button the jeans up without too much effort.
I am still vlogging away about my weight loss on Youtube and I really think it has been the reason for my success so far. I don't want to let my subscribers down!
I dropped 3 pounds this week so now I am at a total loss of 13 pounds. I am feeling so motivated! I think kicking up the cardio up a notch helped. I did 5 days of cardio instead of just 4. It's awesome! I am also only 7 pounds away from my LA trip weight loss goal of 195. I can drop 7 pounds in 2 weeks! I totally can!
Tomorrow we are having a potluck at school and to be honest I am scared to death. Scared I will overeat and scared I won't be able to stop. I need to somehow find a way to have self control to prove to myself that I can handle anything that comes my way. I am in control, the food doesn't control me! Wish me luck!
This guy totally inspires me. He has lost 140 pounds and he just seems like an awesome person. Not to mention he is easy on the eyes. :P He also keeps a blog called Tooth By Tooth.
I took my son to see Kung Fu Panda tonight. he saw it last week with his dad already but I wanted to see it and he certainly didn't object when I asked him about seeing it again. It was pretty funny actually. Several parts had me cracking up. I would recommend it to anyone who is in the mood for some laughter.
The only thing that was annoying was the stupid teens/young adults watching it. A group of about 14-15 friends came in and they were throwing popcorn, talking throughout the movie and text messaging/answering their phones during it. Seriously, if you attend the movies to chat and goof off with your friends, go do that OUTSIDE of the fricken movie. I once told off some guy during Rush Hour 2 who was talking in a normal voice volume to his friend in the movie. I was pregnant at the time and just waited over an hour in a line outside so I was not in the mood to have my movie ruined by some jackass.
I'm excited for my weigh in tomorrow! I'm hoping for a 3 pound loss. I kicked up my workouts by doing 2 more cardio workouts this week than normal and a few nights this week I was on the lower end of my calorie count. We shall see what the scale has to say about those changes.
Oh, I am exchanging messages with a guy named Dan on myspace. He seems nice, the only thing is he is a beardo. I HATE facial hair. I am forever traumatized by the pubic-hair beard from Jackass 2 the movie. Jackass has completely turned me off from facial hair now and I am not sure if I could ever accept it. I just appreciate a nicely shaved face!
Speaking of faces. I also tried this look tonight (only the evening version) and absolutely loved it.
I signed up to take my written board exam in 2 weeks! Woohoo! I decided to get it over with before my vacation.
Well, its late and I really need to get to bed.
2 1/2 more weeks to go until my vacation!
I'm down 11 pounds since starting my weight loss journey on May 19th and that means I have dropped 2 pounds for my June Challenge. I'm feeling tired though. I guess I blame my late nights. I'm getting up at 5 am to workout but I am still going top bed between 11:30pm and midnight. I'm still doing my 200 AB workouts in the evening and I still hate them!
School is coming to an end. Had one final today and I have another on Friday.
Tomorrow is my last day at my internship office. There has been no further discussion as far as a summer part-time position. I really hope she asks me.
Dating life still blows and I am in the phase where I am totally fine with that. I am too motivated to drop this weight right now and be the best me that I can. I know eventually I will attract the right man. Even if he turns out to be 7 years younger. I'm attracted to younger men lately and its driving me crazy.
I've survived 3 weeks on my diet and exercise plan. I only went over my calorie count once this week and it was only by 120 calories. No real damage. I happily report that I lost 2 pounds this week. Yay! That is a total of 10 pounds since I began.
I have 3 more weeks to try and drop 9 pounds before my LA trip so I can look and feel fantastic before meeting Chris and meeting up with some other friends. It's crazy that I care about what I look like when I meet Chris when this is clearly a physical thing and I may never even see him again after this. I know I am not just doing this for Chris. I just want to be pleasing to the eye I guess.
I love that I am so motivated to get below my pre-pregnancy weight. I have full faith in myself that I can reach that goal.
Oh yea, I am totally addicted to Metro Station - Shake it. The song has been stuck in my head for a week now. It's so darn catchy!
So I submitted my video response for the June Challenge by thedietblogger.
My goals are:
1.) Lose 10 pounds
2.) Do 200 sit ups/crunches
3.) No eating after 7:00pm
All these goals are totally doable. I worry the most about the 10 pound loss. I think i will have to kick it up a notch on my workouts by throwing in another cardio workout or two. Most likely on the days I do strength training.
My weekly weigh in also shows a 2 pound loss. Woot!
I made this awesome Slow Cooker Chicken Taco Stew today. I got the recipe from Sparkpeople.com. It was awesome! Even my son loved it. Definitely going to be a new favorite of the house. I had so much leftover that I packed some away to take for lunches this week. Nummy!
I have quickly become fascinated with the vlogs on youtube. I find myself watching them into the wee hours of the morning. So, why not jump on board and vlog myself?? I posted my first one yesterday. Unfortunately I do not feel like posting the link on here since by doing so I will lose anonymity. By posting weekly vlogs I think it will help keep me accountable. Much like that of attending a weigh-in at a Weight Watcher's meeting. I know people are watching me and I already have a few subscribers who will be notified each time I post a new video.
Anyhow my update for the week is I have lost 8 pounds already! Woohoo! I only went over my calorie count one day this week and it was only over by 130 calories. All the other days I have been 100-200 under my maximum amount which is 1,630 calories. I am just going to aim for 2-3 pounds loss this week. If I end up losing more than that is fine!
